The "Neuroscience Information Framework Gross Anatomy" was developed as part of the NIF Standard Ontologies. It extended NeuroNames by including terms from BIRNLex, SumsDB, BrainMap.org, etc.; for multi-scale representation of the nervous system and macroscopic anatomy.
